Network: 'Infrastructure' is preset. This means users
connect to a wireless access point available at the current location.
'Ad hoc' is the other option available, enabling users to connect directly
to another user without an access point.
Channel: 'Auto' is preset. The connection frequency
(in accordance with 802.11b standard) does not need to be changed when
connecting to 'Infrastructure' type network. The recommended setting is
'Auto'.
Transmit rate: 'Auto' is preset. Users are able to change
the speed of the connection they wish to use. Users can select among 1,
2, 5.5, and 11 Mb/s. The recommended setting is 'Auto'.
Follow these instructions on the second screen of the profile
wizard:
Users are able to enter IP and DNS address in the window. Choose 'server-assigned
IP address’. Choose the same option with DNS.
The third window of the profile wizard is designed for
network profile protection (Wireless Encryption). Choose the ‘Disabled’
setting. If you decide not to choose this setting, WEP keys need to be
entered.
Touch the ‘Finish’ button. In this way, you will complete creating a new
profile named ‘NeoWLAN’.
Review, editing and deleting profiles:
You are able to access profiles via ‘iPAQ WLAN’ icon in the bottom right
corner of the screen. Available profiles will be written out in a new
window.
If you wish to activate a profile, select it from the list and touch the
‘OK’ button.
If you wish to edit a profile, first touch the ‘Setup’ button. Touch the
‘Edit’ button. Carry out the desired changes and confirm them with the
‘OK’ button.
You can delete a profile by selecting it from the list and clicking the
‘Delete’ button, confirming your intention by clicking ‘Yes’.
Starting a WLAN connection
Click ‘Start’, then choose ‘iPAQ Wireless’ and ‘iPAQ WLAN’. Start the
connection by clicking ‘Yes’. ‘iPAQ WLAN’ icon appears in the bottom right
corner of the screen.
Confirm ‘Setup’ in the displayed window.
Choose the desired profile from the list and click ‘OK’.
Ending WLAN connection
Click the ‘iPAQ WLAN’ icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Choose ‘Close’ in the displayed window.
Checking your status and signal power.
Choose the ‘iPAQ WLAN’ icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Choose ‘Setup’ in the displayed window. Check signal power and connection
quality.
Click ‘OK’.
Checking the status of WLAN connection
Click the ‘iPAQ WLAN’ icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Click ‘Setup’ and ‘Status’ buttons, then refresh the status by clicking
‘Refresh’.
Searching for access points
Click the ‘iPAQ WLAN’ icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Click ‘Setup’, then ‘Status’.
Click the ‘Advanced’ button. Click ‘Rescan’ button to search for access
points. To choose an access point, confirm the ‘Access point ID’ list
and choose a point. Access points are arranged by SSID information. Refresh
your list by clicking ‘Rescan’.
Click ‘OK’ in the upper right corner of the screen.
Logging in to the network
Click ‘Start’ button and choose ‘iPAQ Wireless’ icon, then Internet Explorer.
Entering username and password or your phone number and password, sent
to you via SMS, is the same as with the use of Internet Explorer in portable
computers.
Logging out of the network
Click ‘Start’ button and choose ‘iPAQ Wireless’ icon, then Internet Explorer.
Enter the word ‘neo’ in the title field. Find ‘LOGOUT’ connection in the
login screen. Internet Explorer’s window appears on iPAQ’s screen, asking
you to ‘Confirm your exit from NeoWLAN network!’
